The Quest to Find the Magic Sky
This year's third term was a lot of fun. The best part about the third term was the eclipse trip. We went to New York to stay in a lakeside cottage because the view was going to be better. The lake was massive. The first night we got there, we unpacked all the backpacks and other luggage to go to a play that was going to be at a church performed by a group called Lamplighter Ministries.
The next day at the cottage, I fished with Landon for about two hours. Later that day, while we were waiting for the eclipse to happen, it became overcast. So what my class did was go out to the middle of the lake to watch the eclipse. It was the coolest thing ever. As the sky quickly darkened, a thunderstorm was coming behind us. When the eclipse reached totality, the sky was purple and on the horizon it looked as if there was some mysterious glowing light. Just as the moon started to move away from the sun, we got rained on. Watching the eclipse in the middle of the lake was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced.
During the following day, we went to see where Lamplighters Ministries stayed. After we had a tour of the place, we went to a big national park to eat lunch and just look at the amazing things God has created. When we were done exploring the park, my class and I went to get ice cream. I bought a dish called a Plowed Field not knowing that it was for two people not one. When we got back to the cottage, we decided to go swimming in the lake because that day was very hot and humid. But when there is one day in the whole week that is warm, that doesn't mean that the lake is going to be warm. Anyway, after my class and I froze, we watched a movie to finish that last day at the lakeside cottage. On the last day of the eclipse trip, we went to the Corning Museum of Glass. The glass museum was awesome because you got to see the different glass sculptures and how they made them. We also got to see glass blowing. Then we drove home. None of my class died.
