Lake Canandaigua

This term we went to Lake Canandaigua in New York and watched the eclipse. On the first day we just kind of hung out at the cabin, maybe boated a little bit, then went to Lamplighter Theatre to watch a play. The play was interesting, but I didn’t love it.

The second day we boated all day, fished a little bit, and watched the eclipse from our boats. It was cloudy, so we didn’t really get to see the eclipse directly, but it got dark like ten at night dark, so that was cool.

The fishing wasn’t all that great, mostly because we didn’t really have the stuff to fish there effectively, but we still caught a few pickerel and also a pike.

After the eclipse, I caught a giant lake trout, so that was cool, and we cooked it for dinner. We watched The Flight of the Navigator and then we went to bed. The next day, we went to Lamplighter again, this time for a tour, and then went hiking. Then we got ice cream and went back.

On the last day, we went to the Corning Glass Museum where we saw a bunch of really cool glass sculptures and some cool glassmaking techniques. I also bought a bunch of giant marbles. Then we went home.
