Brayan Blog Term I
Blog Term I
Brayan Canales.
What have I learned.
During this term, I have learned multiple things in multiple classes, which was most helpful for improving both my lexicon and my knowledge of diverse topics.
Bible
In Bible class, I have learned about how there is something essential to understanding always whenever reading the Bible: context. Context is important because it helps to understand what is happening. For studying the Bible is as well important to ask: What is happening in this chapter? What is the time? Who wrote it? What are the intentions of the author in writing it out? During this term, I have learned multiple things in multiple classes, which was most helpful.
Pre-Calculus
In pre-calculus, I have learned of radians, how to read coordinates, and to an extent, continuing to understand the usage of Sine, Cosine, and Tangent.
Chemistry
I have learned about elements, substances, mixtures, and atoms in Chemistry. Also, I discovered specific formulas and concepts essential to know, such as the frequency and wavelength of relationship or the frequency and energy relationship. A little bit about sound and light and how we perceive them. Another thing that I learned is how to use prefixes or suffixes correctly for classification, in the depth of the models of the atom, and about how each can have different orbits. Finally, how to use the periodic table and how it is a helpful tool.
Architecture
The importance of counting loads and different kinds of loads. Kind of loads is Dead loads, Live loads, Dynamic loads, Wind loads, Earthquake loads, and Thermal and Settlement loads. Also, about Tension and Compression.
Art
I have learned how to do shadows, mainly with perpendicular lines and dots, and how to try to draw the shapes of objects to start drawing.
Book cafés
Each month we do book cafés and discuss a specific book that we read in one month, give our reflections and at the same time have some drinks such as coffee or tea.
All these classes have given me a great impression and impacted me greatly in the elapse of this first term, which I enjoyed, and I hope to learn more and more in the next term.
